Foot Lbs, Lug Nuts, and Torque...

How many foot lbs. of torque should I ask the professional truck tire place to tighten my lug nuts down to? Gotta be safe, but gotta be able to get 'em off too!

I'm 5'6" and 165 lbs. and lead the action packed life of a librarian, so I don't have forearms the size of Virginia Hams like summa youze guyz. My idea for fixing a flat was a 1.5" combination wrench, lubricant a-plenty, and a 4' length of pipe to fit over the wrench.

A 1.5" 3/4" drive socket runs less than $10.00 and a breaker bar for same is $36.00 so I could go that route as well, but I'd still want the pipe and lubricant.
