The two batches of military WFs start 81304900 (116 off closed cab 1941) and 81334245 (200 off closed cab + chassis 1942)
That said, the panel body with box on side configuration is identical to the Signal Corps 1.5 ton Chevrolet 4 x 4 truck and I'd be surprised if it wasn't related in some way.
Cosmetically, except for the box on the side, it is a dead ringer for the 1940 VF-407 ambulance body excpet for the non-driven front axle.
No glovebox door tag I suppose ?
