2" receiver hitch problem solved. Use a piece of 2" receiver stock long enough to go through the rear cross member where the stock pintle hitch bolts currently. Cut and weld a "healthy (1/2"?)" piece of flat steel to the receiver on the rear (trailer) side of the hitch. Drill the flat steel with the same bolt pattern as the stock pintle hitch. Now here's the Ed special... on the forward side of the cross member duplicate the flat steel only with a collar that snugly fits over the receiver and have the same bolt pattern. With 4 bolts long enough to go through the rear cross member you should be able to bolt your custom receiver (the two plates sandwiched together to the cross-member) on & off at will... undo the bolts from the trailer side (welded nuts on the plate on the forward side is optimum, pull the bolts out out, pull out the receiber unit, and whallah... you can remount your pintle without any mods.
