For whatever it's worth, I run Buckshot QR7816 tires on the stock 6.5" split rims on my '68 W300. They improved the ride and handling tremendously. I didn't bother with the speedometer, but I know from experience with the Idaho State Police and my F350 with the same tires that I'm going about 62 when my speedometer says 55.
