The picture is a Big Knuckle Dana 44 in Gene's 1966 PW TW.

A Dana 44 with the small knuckle is used in 1/2 and 3/4 tons from 1957-1971.

Before 1961 I have never heard of a big knuckle dana 44 being used in a Dodge truck.

After 1961 there were a few trucks, Crew Cabs being the main ones, that got big knuckle Dana 44s.

Also some special order standard cab W200s, a few W100s, and a small number of 1966 TWs.

The small knuckle Dana 44 is the standard ball on the Dana 44 tube.

The big knuckle is a Dana 70 sized ball, on a Dana 44 tube.

Go here for both pictures:

Hope this helps!!
