Big Block Spark Plug Wiring

Hey, I just noticed my spark plug wires look like a rat's nest. How are they supposed to be routed on a '68 383? The valve covers have some little metal things that look like some kind of wire holding clips should be on them. I would think I should have something that holds them away from the valve covers and other hot things.
