Dodge changed the brakes last year. The new Dodge Ram rotors and brakes are now 60% larger than ferd or gm. I think the rotors are now 14" dia. They are huge! One friend who had this problem in his '96 Ram was given a different composition rotor by Dodge. He hasn't had any problems since. I don't know if this was a factory or aftermarket rotor. The stock rotors didn't effect his braking, just brake longevity and created a vibration.
