preventing stuck engines

First off I'm not trying to insult anyone by this. If you think a vehicle is going to be sitting for a while take the time to pull the spark plugs and pour in some ATF and crank the motor over by hand a couple of times. Then pour in a little more and replace the plugs{ a little antisieze is a good idea here}. Then every couple months turn it over by hand a few revolutions. this should keep you from having problems with seizure. When starting after storage make sure you change your oil becasuse some ATF will get to your crankcase and make sure to prelube the motor. I know this can get a little expensive for some of us but it's a lot cheaper than having to redo a whole motor. Also safety first, a lot of penetrants used to free up stuck motors is flammable. Unfortunately I learned some of these the hard way and I hope someone can use my two cents worth. Also ATF is very good at cleaning combustion chambers, While the motor is running drizzle a bit of ATF down the carb while someone is inside the vehicle keeping it running. Warning, you will get a lot of white smoke out of the tailpipe.
