Should work the same as gas line antifreeze. If you are near oil patch country it`s very common,it`s injected into gas wells as a de waxer & to prevent freezing. It evaporates fast, simular to brake cleaner, & ether. HAS NO lubricating qualities, but mixes with oil Methol hydrate is found in NAPA for truck air brakes to prevent freezing. Just a thought, not sure of the cost, it`s cheap around here. GB
