If I remember correctly, oil floats on water which means the lowest point (belly) of the PTO would have had water that did not drain. Go to Pep Boys and buy a couple of gallons of S.A.E 140 W.A.E oil, about $8 a gallon. Change, drive, change, drive, change until clear. You could take the top rear bearing retainer bolt out and rig a vacum line to your air cleaner to help pull some of the mositure out.
