I just purchased a 1958 W200 (the teal one at Vintage Power Wagons). I plan to slowly do a complete restoration on it. However, I need to do some basics first. The truck looks like it has been repowered with a V8 and I need to identify the engine so I can begin to make some intelligent decisions about it. I *think* that it is a 315, however, how do I tell for certain? Where are some casting/ID numbers that might point me toward the correct year?
On the fun side, I popped a new battery in it and turned the engine over today. I was glad to hear it's not stuck, so now I need to perform a little TLC before I really try to start it.
