Braden material list #PB-201 dated 9/98 recommends for temps between +30F and below use Synthetic SAE 80w-140 Chevron Tegra Syngear, between +10F and +50F use AGMA Grade 5 EP(90wt)Texaco Meropa 220 or equivelant, between +15F to 100F use AGMA Grade 7 EP(140wt) Texaco Meropa 460 or equivelant, between 90F and above use AGMA Grade 8 EP(180wt) Texaco Meropa 680 or equivelant. The brand of the lube isn't critical but it must qualify as AGMA Grade EP gear oil, which automotive gear oils bought in the local parts stores very seldom meet the industrial gear lube spec. Just because the stuff you get at Shmucks says it contains "EP" additives doesn't mean it is the correct lube. If it doesn't say AGMA Grade EP you don't want it!
