Hey folks!
I have a '49 flatfender with a 230 cid flathead engine. I'm currently rebuilding the engine.
The clearance between the rear cam bearing bore (which is just a bore in the block - no actual bearing inserted) and the camshaft is about 0.005" to 0.007" in my engine.
Some people on this forum have said that excessive clearance here can cause low oil pressure.
The manual states that the max wear limit is 0.004", so I am 2 or 3 thousandths above that.
Do you think this is a problem??
Thanks in advance,
Matt
