I went for a ceiling mount in my Carryall. I ran 2 lightweight pieces of angle bracket from the front sheet metal just above the windshield back to the brace that supports the roof liner. I drilled 4 small holes that can not be seen and none of it will be visible with the headliner in. I then mounted a small black plastic enclosure that is designed for head units and is available at most car audio shops for about $15. All my wiring is above the headliner or in the windshield posts or in the rear door posts. The antenna is hidden behind the headliner also. The speakers are in the front kick pannels and surface mounted just below the window boxes in the back. It works quite well. My sons drool when they listen to the system.
