unless the switch is physically falling apart? check the load...the truck was designed to have only one stop light bulb! if you have more than two stop lights the current draw can exceed the switch rating and cause failure, the type of fluid is not a factor as the switch ids a pressure sensitive device purely mechanical you can buy a n-o (normally open) industrial fluid pressure switch from a supplier like granger that can have a contact rating of 5-10 amps with a 1/8" pipe thread, this would allow you to use a dozen or so stop lights! and last for ages. again, there is no difference between dot3-5-or water for that matter when regarding the switch! its like tom and others said...its the foreign crap imported by our penny pinching manufacturers!
