No. I don't think the compression is very good. I can easily crank the engine over with the hand crank. Even my 97 lb girlfriend could do it. It ran well when parked. That's part of why I suspected I had valves stuck open or the timing chain jumped. But the valves appear (from what I can see at the bottom) to be opening and closing when they should. I'm hoping compression is just poor because it's dry and once it fires up and starts splashing oil all over everything it will tighten up. A gas engine should fire even with very poor compression. It just may not make much power and it may run rough. But it ought to fire and run somewhat. My old Toyota pickup has 90 lbs in 3 cylinders and 30 lbs in one cylinder (the "rebuild" limit in the manual is 140 lbs). It idles on 3 cylinders but when I rev it up some, all 4 kick in and it has decent power. So, given that the Sno-Cat ran when parked, even if it has low compression, I'd expect more of it than I'm getting.
