Don't know if you saw it or not on the link I provided to t137.com, but this is a pillow block for a Power-Wagon. It attaches to the rear crossmember of the truck with four hex head cap screws. Has a yoke at the leading end for the driveshaft to connect to. And has a flange at the trailing end for the belt pulley and/or cover to attache to - also with four hex head cap screws and nuts.

If you are only interested in function and appearance, you would still end up making something that looks very similar to an original. The original assembly is the prefect example of "form follows function."

In an earlier post I mentioned, "That one piece would cost at least half of what Vaughn mentioned that current Rear PTO Assemblies are selling for." By "one piece" I meant the entire pillow block assembly. I intended to say, "...would cost TWICE of what Vaughn mentioned that current Rear PTO Assemblies are selling for."

I do not do any price quoting for the machine shop that I work for. That estimate is based only upon what I happen to see when it comes to cutting splines, creating the patterns for molds, milling castings, and the setup time involved for small order runs.

This is just my opinion. If I were going to tackle such a project, rather than wait to see if original parts come on the market, I would probably strive for a reproduction of the perfect original since the cost would probably not be all that much greater than creating something that has the function of the original and the appearance of being built in the 1940's. Unless of course, you can do the work yourself.
