Tom, I agree that an angle protractor on the top or bottom of the knuckle would give a quick estimate of the castor. But I distrust the precision of non machined surfaces, so I was looking for machined surfaces to measure from. My advantage was that I had the axle disassembled anyway, so it was easy to measure from the differential mounting surface.
