All I can say is I don't have to fight my truck steering, it takes slight pressure to the left on the steering wheel to keep it in a straight line, and if I let go of the steering wheel, it will slightly move to the right as a vehicle should. Next time you rebuild a knuckle, set your bearing pre-load, then shock the bearings and see if there isn't a noticeable difference in bearing pre-load.
