My carryall did this and drove me completely batty doing the WABDER (Orgon -> Canada on dirt roads.) In the end, after rebuilding everything out in the field day in a day out, it turned out to be the carb heat riser valve was rusted 1/2 open. Cooking the carb the entire time.
