It looks amazingly like my '47 during the first several years I had it. As on your '48, the paint on my rear fenders appeared to be the first to be burned off by the sun. Sometimes I wish I had never repainted them. But now they are collecting scratches and dents and are finally starting to blend somewhat into the original paint on the rest of the truck.
