To me the word restored doesn’t really mean anything. Could mean painted, could mean all the mechanical issues they knew about were addressed or it could mean every nut & bolt was removed & every part returned to the condition it was when it was new. It’s definitely good to have discussion around originality etc just so we can all learn what was correct & what wasn’t & having nice originals like yours…lots can be learned from them where as once a vehicles been apart & refinished…your guess is as good as mine.
I always find new things every time I look at my original 48.
Like I’ve taken flack from lots of people on the orange 49 I restored over the cad plated bumper bolts & that they were originally all painted with the bumper as a unit…not on my 48 they weren’t. The bolts all are bare original zinc plate.
I also find it interesting that most of the running gear was primed red before painted black. Almost all the black is gone under my truck & only red remaining.
I think Concours is the term for what your idea of restored is & one could certainly have a power wagon concours judged. I guess the results would only be as good as the judge at the concours event :)
