Here's a little insight for anyone rebuilding a LU2 winch. As there is no support for the right side or engagement idler side other than the angle iron mounts be sure that the distance between the drum dog and the support is correct before you assemble it. Mine has a homemade mount to mount it on whatever and was locked up when I got it. I made new mounts before disassembly and got it back together and found the engagement dog would not disengage. prompting me to have to build new mounts. what I thought would be a 1 or 2 day job turned into a week.
