No you really don't need an electric fan. If you use a food fan with a correctly modified fan shroud you will not have an overheating issue. That radiator shroud has a great design for that particular fan but the electric fan is really not needed. The original PW radiator is very capable of providing sufficient cooling for a V8 or a diesel.

Last week I started writing an article that I will give to Joe to post. I see so many posts that they are running hot after a V8 upgrade. I had the same issue with my carryall with the original radiator. We are talking doing parades in Reno in 100 degree weather. It would spike the temp way up but would cool back down at 25+ mph. After some minor modifications to the shroud, picking a better fan, placing the fan into the shroud correctly and adding an overflow tank I was able to do parades in 100 degree Reno with no issues. It's not rocket science, you just need to understand how a fan and it's shroud work.
