You got that right. My friend who painted my WDX convinced me to use a clear coat. 12 years later it's still as shiny as when first painted. Honestly I wish I hadn't gone with the clear. I think a Power Wagon looks better with some oxidation, unless it's a trailer queen, which mine isn't.
