Here is a photo of an original leader chain for the MU2 winch with 7/16" cable. I would think that it would work just as well if you really want 1/2 cable. The shear pin is going to be the weak link (by design) anyway.

Note that there are 30 links plus one pear link at each end. Also not the proper slip hook and Safe-Line clamp in 7/16 inch size. If one is weaving the cable in a Flemish Eye (definitely suggested) a 1/2 inch Safe-Line clamp will work fine. If you are going to use 1/2 inch cable with a Flemish Eye, you would probably have to go with a 5/8 inch Safe-Line clamp.

I do not have the individual chain line dimensions close by, but I can get these for you in a day or so.
