You always coat the bottom 1/3 of the door inside either with tar or undercoating, unless you want it to rust out. Make sure the drain holes are open afterwards. I used McKay Under Kote when it was made, and like all the stuff that worked well, it was taken off the market. 3M works well and Rust-Oleum. There are a couple of gallon cans of McKay on EBay, good price and don't be scared off by the looks of the can, the stuff inside will be good, just stir it around to mix it before applying. It's a messy job applying coating so wear rubber gloves and if you do get it on you, clean it off with paint solvent or WD40. WD40 works great for cleaning tar off your vehicle do to road repair.
