Reading about transporting nitro with trucks miles apart, made me think immediately of the 1953 film "The Wages of Fear". Set in Central America, two 2-man teams of drivers contract to haul nitroglycerine over impossible terrain to help extinguish a disastrous oil well fire. Thought by many, to be one of the greatest films ever made. "Sorcerer" was the remake, which on it's on is a good film, but cannot compare to the stark tension, drama and terror of the black and white original. Highly recommended to this group of old truck aficionados.
