Jerry, The more new components you start with the better. the lines can be flushed out with alcohol, I usually start with a new master cylinder because I don't think you could get all the old fluid out, and wheel cylinders are cheap usually, so probably switch them, but I think you can flush them too. While I'm at it I always change out the steel brake lines to copper-nickel, easy to bend and never corrode. That's it. A short story about my 71 Demon re-build. I let a good friend talk me into staying with dot 3 fluid. I had changed out the master cylinder, new copper- nickel lines, didn't touch the wheel cylinders or front calipers. Well by the time I got the project done, 3-4 years and sitting around the brand new master became all corroded and the front calipers became frozen. I was BS that I didn't listen to my self. So I put in a new master, new calipers flushed out everything and switched it to dot 5 and I'll never look back, and I'll never have to mess with the brakes again!.
