A monument is sometimes a memorial erected or carved as a lasting remembrance of something great such as an event or person. Although the perceived greatness may be debatable depending upon the observers point of view. Most often, when it comes to a person, before the monument is commissioned, the subject has already passed from this earth.
Gordon and MoparNorm have already left us, but left us with countless memories I might point out, but Joe is still with us and hopefully will be for generations to come. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but he may have a personal opinion to share about being memorialized before his time has come. It may not necessarily be positive, or it may. Who knows. I don't want to put speak out of turn or try to put works in his mouth, just saying.
But it is a cool idea coming from a well respected and admired member of the community, I might add.
I feel as though I have inadvertently left someone out whom you had included on your list. Oh well. There was no intent on my part to slight anyone. My apologies to those possibly affected.
