Thx, so I gather it is not a factory reinforcement plate. It is not welded on, simply bolted. It looks like the weld repair was after the plate was added since the plate seems to show loss of paint and more rust in the area near the weld, like it got quite hot during the welding, and it has that on both the left and right side plates.
The crack is pretty much right below where a crossmember was added to support the extra winch in the bed.
Is this an area where cracks are known to occur in the frame? Since I am not using that winch anymore, and don't plan on heavy weight in the bed, what would you guys suggest for repairs, if any?
