I appreciate the pics Brian, Apparently there’s a misunderstanding. I didn’t say a slant 6 could
NOT be installed. I said it wouldn’t be “easy”. My engineless civilian originally came from
Roy Roger’s ranch in Apple Valley, California, so I didn’t want to modify it to the extent I
couldn’t return it back to original. I LOVE the Chrysler’s lazy 6 and make no mistake... it was
my first choice. I even laid-out the cash (before tape measure)for pristine '67 Mopar industrial, assuming it would fit. Unfortunately, I could NOT create the necessary clearance between the
externally mounted oil pump and the front axle pumpkin without laying torch to the firewall
AND removing the bell housing cross member to allow the slant to sit further back. The
pictures are great, but I would suggest some additional informational to let others know exactly
what needs “blue wrenched” so others will understand the degree of difficulty... and
modifications necessary to duplicate yours. Maybe my rig was different... I don’t know. I do
know that by installing a 1968 455 Olds and Turbo 400 (because that’s what I had access to) ,
required NONE of the above mods so that’s what I installed. BeepBeep
