valve adjusting is rather simple, you have to bar the engine over to TDC. This will require a barring tool to manually turn the crank.
The svc manual indicates there is an acceptable range that the lash can be in. Likely, not all the valves will need adjustment at once, especially since the lash range is greater, than that of the acceptable lash on a gas engine.
Not sure of the intervals, but the 12v requires more valve lash maintenance.
