Most electric fuel pumps today pump 4-8 pounds of pressure. The one on my truck pump 4-7 pounds and causes no flooding issues. I don't think you'll have flooding issues unless the carb has a bad needle/seat. You don't want one with to low in pressure, it might cause vapor lock. Make sure you install an oil pressure gauge in the oil line so it will stop pumping if the engine stalls, see PIF electrical wiring diagrams.
