When I built the M-37, I used GM/Saginaw box. My other old iron builds used a Dodge/Saginaw box. One must remember only GM Pitman arms will fit on a GM Saginaw box and like wise only Dodge Pitman arms will fit on Dodge/Saginaw Boxes.

Back to the GM/Saginaw Box. Your pitman arm must be the proper length so when you wheels are straight ahead the drag link is flat. This also controls Bump Steer. I found on the M37 with the GM/Saginaw box that a 1966 Caddy pitman arm was perfect in length. And as a added bonus the drag link ball that bolts to the end of the 1966 Caddy is removable. This makes it easy to purchase the proper ball/stud to match your drag link perfectly. The 66 Caddy ball/stud socket is also tapered.

We are talking 15 or more years ago when I built the M37. My local NAPA had no
problem finding the right ball diameter/stud size/taper. It all fit together great. I do not remember the correct Ball/stud size/taper but you can measure and quickly find the sizes. I believe from memory it was a MOOG Ball/Stud.

And of course you must use a reverse rotation Box from either GM or Dodge. Without a
reverse rotation box, you steer left the truck goes right……does make it sort of hard to steal ha ha
