Third Series Bed Support Rod

Working on a Tisdale bed for a 1968 Dodge M601 project. Original bed did not come with a bed support rod. Can someone remind me where these go? VPWs shows them in their catalog. I know they tie the bedsides to the header panel somehow, but it's been too long since I've seen one installed. Pics would be great! Thanks.
