Thanks for all the info! I'll post a few pics as soon as I have the truck back at my house. It's doing photo-op duty at our church at the moment.
One thing I notice is that mine has running boards that go back well past the cab, and have a partial rear fender, unlike Vaughn's drawing. Also, my stake pockets definitely do not have a "rail" type of construction on the edge.
So, the presumption that it was added by the purchaser, and quite possibly made locally, is sounding good.
