The inner fender filler appears to end at the forward end where those end on both my '47 and '51. I think it is kind of an optical illusion because of the light color paint of the cowl behind the black bracket that mounts the fender.

Thanks for posting the picture from the parts manual.

This topic is always interesting when it come up but it appears we have really not learned much new on the subject over the past several years. Hopefully there is more printed literature from Chrysler that will be discovered some day.
