Hi Jerry. Can you make grab bars that extend off of the headache rack on your flatbed? Make them good and stout and maybe also have them serve dual purpose by providing points to mount additional brackets to hold fire extinguishers, road flares, pioneer racks, Hi-Lift jacks, chain saws, etc.
My idea is to give them some apparent mechanical function but still offer the grab bar you desire without making them look like just a big hangnail sticking out there.
As a plus, you shouldn't have to drill holes in that nice cab!
