Thread size required for the “step down stud”
Are :
Thread in 1/2 ton HOUSING - 3/18-16”
Thread in 3/4 ton housing- 7/16”-14
So to make , or find, a proper “step stud”
It must be 3/18-16 on one side, and 7/16 on the other
