Not the same set up as DDD is doing, but I installed post war 8.75” 4.30 ratio third members into my WC 1/2 ton housings using the step studs and pilot house 1 ton axle shafts in the rear .Had to cut the spline length a little bit, but after 10 years no problems yet. For the front axle I used the 1/2 ton side gears to be able to use the 1/2 ton axle shafts. Yes, now the 3rd members are not interchangeable , but oh well, c’est la vie as they say in French.
