We run the Samson Trakers from Nebraska Tire on the one ton IHC plow truck and I have a set on my e350 4x4 bucket van. Settled on these after quickly wearing out some parade-duty sta superlugs. Les Schwab used to list a heavier-rated STA tire but neither LS or STA reps wanted to look into it.
It has been very easy to deal with Nebraska Tire but at times they’ve been out of stock.
Trakers are not a great for ice and wet snow and have stiff sidewalls, just like you’d expect. Our local shops won’t sipe anymore. We use BBs to balance and flat spots persist in the cold. Bump Bump Bump Bump. But we run chains all winter in the plow truck anyway and we like the tough tires for farm stuff in the summer.
The van is a bucket truck so stiff sidewalls are great. When I finally change the bucket lift over to a service truck and use the van on the road more, I’ll go back to just a load range E radial snow tire.
