Visit a junk yard, look at trucks with the liner torn out. It's not much more than the OE brace. But for my own, I did weld in a ummm, 6x8 piece of 14 ga around the corner, with a 7/16 nut welded to the back.I bent it to the curve with a rubber mallet, across open vice jaws.
