The tank was a new stainless one from Chris and it was sealed plus I inspected it. I also installed a sending unit. There was initially seepage at the point where the supply line goes in but I tightened it. I don't know if it is the original fuel pump although the truck only has 9000 miles on it. But if it is it certainly could have gotten gunked up over 60 years. However it was the FD Brush truck and on call 'til I got it. What has thrown me off is that I drove it 20 miles w/o a problem. Changed out the tank and trouble starts. So it's obvious it is something I did. The bed boards are still unsecured so I will re-check the sending unit and install that anti siphon valve.
