I got some bad gas once, and it clogged my fuel filter. This caused a “vapor-lock like” situation, with fuel starvation.
The fuel pump was pumping when I disconnecting the line to the fuel filter bowl.
Externally, the “stone” OEM fuel filter looked ok, but I put it in a small bowl of carb cleaner fluid and it rapidly turned to a dark tea color. After doing this process twice over the next couple days the fluid was clean and the proble, was solved, I replaced the fuel filter element and kept the old one as a spare.
