There really isn’t any difficult part. Honestly…restoring a power wagon is no more difficult than restoring a riding lawnmower. It’s one of the simplest vehicles on the planet & that’s also the reason for its success.
Assembly is definitely more enjoyable once all the nasty jobs are complete & you’re working with nice clean parts & fasteners but to completely disassemble every last bolt out of a power wagon is a weekend job so the bulk of restoration is reassembly & mostly body repair.
The most important thing for anyone considering a restoration…start with the straightest most rust free body you can find. Mechanical is simple. Repairing sheet metal & frames is expensive & time consuming.
Buy the best body you can afford.
I think all aspects of the job are enjoyable. I mean this isn’t a money maker & so if you don’t enjoy it then I say don’t do it.
