square as well as hex are standard pto shafts for many applications, all of our holmes wreckers had square shafts with slip yoke to drive main chain sprocket from the pto, around here, farm equipment uses hex, our local bearing supply has a whole assortment of u joints, yokes and other fittings to fit a variety of sizes.
