- Look on the rim dish flat area around and between the lug nuts for a two digit year stamp, s/b 60's era, check all four rims.

- Look at the shift lever where the lever bolt to the trans lever, if there is a pin coming out each side the the trans cover, it's an NP420 transmission. Look on the passenger side of the trans for a date casting number, it will be towards the rear, but check both sides till you find one.

- Look at the transfer case front/rear flat side for a date casting number, there will be one somewhere.

Casting Numbers usually follow the year the truck was assembled, but parts can also be a year earlier depending if the assembly of the truck was early in the following year, or later in the year. Hopefully the Army didn't switch parts among trucks to much, however, the above should give us the year of manufacture or assembly of the truck if date number are all fairly consistent. Let us know what you find.
