Todd- let me first say that I have never completed a repower in a PW. In saying that, the 230 in my WC52 does an adequate job of getting me around the country roads and foothill mountains of SC. However, the vanity of me wanting a Cummins is something I would like to have eventually. For my reasoning and area, I could see a 4BT swap and rear end change to 4.89 gears only. The torque of the Cummins on the stock NP would (perhaps) be negated by conservative driving without hotrodding or pulling buildings off their foundation. I like the idea of diesel, and I like the idea of a little better fuel economy. But does a $10k swap really save me any fuel costs? Nope...
