You'll need an extraction tool, see PIF, Section 28, TIPS, "gg" Homemade Tools for example.

- You'll need to take the load off the springs, so block up the frame. You might want to remove the tires after you do to give yourself more working room.

- You'll need to block up the axle, to relieve the weight of it also. As you do that, monitor the shackle, you should notice play in the shackle between it and spring where pin is.

- Once you do that the pins can be extracted.

If a pin doesn't extract easily it could be rusted in place or a wear grove may be holding it, and you need to hit it using a punch and hammer to move while keeping tension on it.

If the spring falls out of the mount, you'll need a big "C" clamp to realign it to get it back in place.

Do one spring at a time.
